Selminha Sorriso has been a flag bearer and has been parading on Sapucaí since 1986. For the past 30 years, she has represented Beija-Flor de Nilópolis alongside Mestre-Sala Claudinho. She has won 10 (ten) titles in her career and 6 (six) Golden Banners.
Selminha is also the mother of Ygor, an actress, and was a host of live streams and the program Samba Coração on TV Bandeirantes. With a degree in law, she specialized in Social Psychology and Anthropology. She has worked for 19 years on the Beija-Flor Institute’s social project with children, youth, and adults, as well as at the Special Education School. She is an ambassador for the National Samba Federation, the Degase Sem Preconceito Program, and the Favo de Mel Special Education School, part of FAETEC.
