Helena Theodoro and Rubem Confete recount the historical process of samba’s arrival in Rio de Janeiro, the cultural and economic changes brought about by this new form of quilombo, and the emergence of samba schools.
"Empretecer" is a documentary miniseries that brings together interviews and archival footage chronicling the historical, social, cultural, and economic evolution of samba schools in Rio de Janeiro, following the development of the 2022 theme for Beija Flor de Nilópolis, titled “Empretecer o Pensamento.”
