The cancellation of the stamp honoring Mother Bernadete marked the official launch of the third stamp in the "Black Heritage of Brazil" philatelic series.
The stamp issue is an initiative of the Brazilian Postal Service, in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and the Ministry of Racial Equality, with the goal of documenting and highlighting the history and ancestry of prominent Black figures.
