Sueli Carneiro is a philosopher, writer, and anti-racism activist in the Brazilian Black social movement. Founder and current director of Geledés—Institute of Black Women, she is considered one of the leading figures in Black feminism in Brazil. She holds a Ph.D. in Education (in the field of Philosophy of Education) from the University of São Paulo (USP). She was the first Black woman to receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Brasília.
