Born and raised in Santa Bárbara, Niterói, Heru holds a degree in Social Sciences and is passionate about hip-hop. As a poet, he has been writing since he was 12, and since 2018 he has been dedicating himself to slam poetry at cultural gatherings and slams in Rio de Janeiro. He got his start in music with an old Motorola flip phone that he used to jot down melodies, and today, in addition to being a guitarist, he plays the keyboard, double bass, drums, and other instruments. He creates his work with a constant focus on the emancipation of the Black community and the recognition of Black presence in the music industry.
