The Brazilian Center for Climate Justice (CBJC) is a national civil society organization dedicated to addressing issues affecting the Black population within Brazil’s climate agenda. Our mission is to broaden the public debate and influence public policies on climate justice and racial equity at the local, regional, and national levels. The climate emergency is a crisis that requires us to confront structural inequalities. We know that racism is a system of oppression in all its political and social dimensions. Therefore, discussing climate justice means, first and foremost, confronting environmental racism.
