The “Africanidades Project” was created at CIEP 201 Aarão Steinbruch to celebrate Afro-diasporic culture. Check out the 15th edition of the event, themed “Funk: A Beat That Stirs the Consciousness.”
The project was designed as an alternative to the top-down, Eurocentric curriculum used in most schools. It encourages student leadership by involving students in the development of educational activities, as well as in selecting the topics to be covered during the school year, and in choosing music, poetry, videos, texts, and much more.
