Djassi Africa is on a mission to promote and accelerate innovators from Africa and the African diaspora by building tech startups to solve the world’s greatest challenges.
Fernando Cabral, founder of Djassi Africa, highlighted during Web Summit Rio 2025 the importance of providing opportunities to underrepresented groups in the innovation ecosystem. In its first year of operations in Brazil, the organization—which acts as a venture builder and angel investor focused on Black entrepreneurs—has expanded its portfolio to 61 startups. Despite facing challenges, such as the reduction of diversity programs by large tech companies, Djassi remains committed to supporting these entrepreneurs. Cabral emphasized that by creating inclusive environments, businesses led by these groups have the chance to thrive and transform the market.
