The Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro, in collaboration with Muhcab, is celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Teatro Experimental do Negro (TEN) with a special program. Founded in 1944, TEN was a pioneer in bringing Black actors into Brazil’s major cultural venues. To celebrate this legacy, the Institute for Afro-Brazilian Research and Studies (Ipeafro), DSS Produções, and Temporal Editora highlight the legacy of one of the country’s most significant theatrical movements.
