Conceição Evaristo has been elected to the Minas Gerais Academy of Letters, founded in 1909, and will occupy seat number 40, previously held by Maria José de Queiroz.
According to the Minas Gerais Academy of Letters itself, Conceição competed for the position against five other candidates and was elected with 30 votes out of 34 cast.
