In the early hours of Saturday (February 10), a young woman was the victim of a gang rape in Salvador; numerous reports circulated about cell phone thefts in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, and a violent police stop brought the city of Caravelas, in Bahia, into the spotlight. Brazil is an extremely complex country full of contradictions. While it is a hospitable country, it is also a violent one.
