On September 25, 2023, the first edition of the Pride Parade for People with Disabilities (PCD) took place at 1313 Paulista Avenue, in front of the Fiesp building in São Paulo. The event’s goal is to present disabilities as a natural part of human diversity and to advocate for equity and the protection of the rights of people with disabilities.
The first event of its kind in Brazil was organized by the Vale PCD and Quilombo PCD collectives and was conceived by Priscila Siqueira, Weverton Fonseca, Julia Piccolomini, Pedro Avelar, and Marcelo Zig.
