Black women from across the state of Rio de Janeiro took over the Copacabana beachfront under the slogan “Black Women United Against Racism, All Forms of Oppression, and Violence, and for a Good Life.”
The demonstration was organized by the State Forum of Black Women – RJ and was attended by various groups dedicated to combating racial inequality. The event marks the conclusion of a week of mobilization leading up to the International Day of Latin American and Caribbean Black Women on July 25, and takes place on the eve of the International Day of African Women.
