After winning a Latin Grammy in 2020, Cláudio Jorge is back with a new album of original songs, a tribute to the rich African cultural heritage that underpins Brazilian society, expressed through melodies, drumbeats, and harmonies
The album title carries a symbolism that defines the musician’s current phase. “Kota,” a word taken from the Kimbundu dictionary—a Bantu language native to Angola—refers to the eldest, the one who holds and passes on knowledge.
