From 2001 to 2004, Garnizé participated in Percuba, a percussion symposium held in Havana, Cuba, being the only Brazilian member included in the project. He has performed and recorded with major figures in the national and international music scene, both in Brazil and abroad. He hosted the program “Fome Zero” on Canal Futura. A lifelong political activist, he served as a National Youth Advisor, gave interviews, and delivered lectures in various countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa, in addition to participating in Brazil with cultural groups such as Afro Reggae. Even today, he performs on international stages with the African artist Wysa Bakongo and teaches percussion workshops at the Maracatu Brasil school in Rio de Janeiro. With his percussion and vocals, he is a member and composer of the Abayomy Afrobeat Orchestra, Brazil’s only Afrobeat band. He is currently preparing to record his first solo album.
