Lubão, the streetball

In 2007, LUB launched the LUBÃO project for the Street Fest SP - Festival of Street Basketball event, a customized van adapted with a basketball table, making street basketball practice with athletes from the Urban Basketball League itinerant. Lubão was present at the grand final, where approximately 1,500 people were present at the grid competition of Street Basketball during Street Fest SP, which took place on December 15, 2007, at the Pacaembu Gymnasium. Promoted by the Urban Basketball League - LUB, the event counted on the presence of about 200 athletes, battle of MCs, performance of DJs and presentations of the B.Boys of the Organized Hip Hop Movement of Brazil (MH2O). Nelson Triunfo, a living legend of Hip Hop, interacted with the public, showing all his wiggling and showing his trademark black power hair.

Taking wave at the signal

LUB was in Belo Horizonte in 2005, presenting its streetball to the Minas Gerais public. Between one performance and another, the athlete Washington aka Super Shock took a wave at the sign of one of the streets of Belo Horizonte together with the juggling boys who defend money in the streets.

LUB at the Black Fair 2007

LUB TV registered LUB's participation in Feira Preta in its sixth edition in 2007. Meeting of culture, citizenship, education and solidarity economy, Feira Preta brings together numerous representatives of Afro-Brazilian culture and dozens of entrepreneurs from different regions of Brazil. The opportunity to group so many participants in a single space, presenting each work in a broad way, and to feed the exchange of experiences, exchanges and conceptual discussions, adds a lot to the process of collective construction that promotes racial equality.

Rappin Hood was created in Vila Arapuá, Heliopólis, on the outskirts of the city of São Paulo. He started composing at the age of 14. He studied trombone and bugle and, in 1989, launched himself as a rapper, when he won the rap championship.

LUB Road 2009 - Pirassununga - SP

Cultne reedited the LUB TV video for Estrada LUB in 2009 in the city of Pirassununga in the interior of São Paulo. On the occasion, athletes from LUB RJ and LUB SP performed at the city's gymnasium.

Big Richard at Expo LUB

On the last day of the exhibition Universo LUB - Arte, Esporte e Movimento at Sesc Madureira, we received a visit from the Paratodos Program by the presenter and rapper Big Richards. At the time, the exhibition served as a backdrop for the recording of the program that will portray the Hip Hop culture. LUB no Players Festival 2012

Cultne recorded with images and edition of Filó Filho the performance of LUB - Urban Basketball League at the Players Festival that took place at Nightclub 00 in Gávea in July 2012. There were athletes Wanderson WG de Rua, Carlinhos Soul, João Marcos Ghetto Square and Wagner da Silva Snoop. On the occasion there was the sound of DJ Flávia Xexéo and the group show Start de Hip Hop. Founded in August 2004, LUB - Liga Urbana de Basquete arrived on the Brazilian scene as a pioneer with street basketball or streetball in Brazil. With the binomial "Sport and Citizenship" she earned in February 2005 deservedly more than 3 minutes of notoriety in Jornal Nacional on TV Globo. The LUB - Urban Basketball League, the art of basketball spectacle visited the Instituto Bola Pra Frente sports center in 2010 for the joy of the young people who were there. This association is probably due to Streetbasketball's roots, found in the backyards of large American cities, where many young people from the poorest communities in the United States see sport and Streetball as a greater and special possibility for a better future.

LUB at Fundição Progresso

LUB - Liga Urbana de Basquete, a non-profit organization active in urban culture, especially in street sports, performed in 2007 during the Charlie Brown Jr show at Fundição Progresso. Inside the facilities of the Fundição, a mini court was set up with a rim table and chain for entertainment with the public present who participated in the game and won cans of RedBull that paid for the activity. In addition to Red Bull, Wilson strengthened the event with its products. The band Charlie Brown Jr founded in 92 considers itself "daughter" of a generation of musicians and bands like Raimundos, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nação Zumbi, and Planet Hemp. The group's sound was influenced by groups such as Sublime, Bad Brains, 311, mixing hardcore, skateboarding and reggae. The vocalist and leader of the band, Chorão, is a skateboarder, even appearing in the best positions of the ranking of several Brazilian championships, and usually presents at shows on a skateboard. Around 1993, they started playing in the underground circuit of Santos and São Paulo and doing shows at various skate events. The quintet's first performances took place in Santos and São Paulo, especially at skate championships.
